HOW TO CREATE HALF KNOTS & FLAT KNOTS

These knots can be used for macrame bracelets, necklaces and wall hangings. For wall hangings I usually measure 2 metres (roughly both arm span, be generous), fold it half and slip knot onto drift wood. For pot hangers 6 lengths and fold in half.

To spiral repeat the same knot on one side

Pull both strings equally to the top

To flat knot alternate left and right

After a thumb length of half knots, swap the strings by putting the outside strings (the ones you have been knotting with) into the centre. This balances out the lengths

six flat knots, making sure they all go round into a circle to hold the pot

Finish with another loop knot like the same as the top
