Victorious Festival
As support in kind, Victorious Festival created the Interactive Weaves Bamboo Tepee. Situated in the world music area, festival-goers could have a go at weaving with plants and write a message. Over 200 people participated over the weekend, writing thought-provocative and meaningful notes on topicas such as what they were grateful for, mental health, grief, anorexia, cancer, 9/11, the planet and the past 18 months.
Lots of people got emotional reading the messages, with one passer-by saying it was the most beautiful part of the whole festival. Another said that, afterwards, they felt mindful and understood how it was good for the soul.
Materials that were woven into the tepee include rosemary that was donated from Southsea Green, as well as lavender and honeysuckle. These natural plants meant that the teepee attracted bee’s, white butterflies, wasps and even dragonflies throughout the festival.
It was so inspiring to connect with so many people, whilst being able to give strangers a voice and capture their thoughts.
