Japanese Textile and Craft Festival

In October I was Honored to exhibit and run some Japanese inspired Macrame workshops at the Japan Textile Festival, represented by the Japan Embassy. The festival ran for five days in Isle of Dogs, London. Over a 1000 people attended, resulting in me losing my voice as I spoke to so many lovely visitors.

I exhibited a collection of hand woven and knotted copper decor, including earrings, wall hangings, pot hangers and a clutch bag.

The best part was meeting other artists from around the globe, including another weaver from Sweden. Having lived in Sweden in 2012 it was lovely to reminisce on traditional Swedish Looms. I also met lots of artists who have visited Japan and they gave me plenty of tips for my trip. There were weavers, ceramicists, textile artists and Indigo dyers.

I am also selling the Japan Textile Festival book in my studio for £10, with all the exhibitors and explanations of the traditional textile techniques in Japan.
